About Dr. Verdone
Hi, I’m Dr. Katrina Verdone, a Pennsylvania licensed psychologist and founder of Verdone Psychological Assessment & Consultation. My work focuses on psychological assessment across the lifespan, helping children, adolescents, and adults better understand the concerns that brought them to evaluation and gain clarity about what comes next.
My background spans a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and forensic care with both children and adults. Throughout my training and career, I have worked with individuals presenting with a wide range of developmental, cognitive, emotional, behavioral, personality, and trauma-related concerns. My assessment experience has included psychodiagnostic, personality, trauma, cognitive, and neuropsychological assessment, as well as work with children and adolescents with diverse clinical needs.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Counseling Psychology from Carlow University after completing my Master of Arts in Clinical-Community Psychology at Point Park University. My predoctoral internship at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare provided specialized experience within a forensic state hospital setting, including forensic psychological assessment, competency restoration, and participation in multidisciplinary forensic review teams.
My Approach to Assessment
I believe a psychological evaluation should do more than provide a diagnosis or a collection of test scores. It should answer the questions that brought you there.
That means I don't approach every client with the same predetermined battery of tests. I consider the referral question, history, current concerns, and individual circumstances to determine what information is actually needed. When appropriate and authorized, I also value collaboration with family members, treatment providers, schools, physicians, and other professionals who can contribute meaningful information to the evaluation.
My goal is to bring all of those pieces together into a clear and useful picture: what may be happening, why it may be happening, what your individual strengths are, and what you can do next.
Just as importantly, I want clients to understand their results. Psychological terminology can be complicated; your evaluation shouldn't be. I strive to explain findings in straightforward language and provide individualized recommendations that can meaningfully inform treatment, school, work, daily functioning, or future care.
Ultimately, I want you to leave the evaluation with more than a report. I want you to leave with answers, insight, and direction.
